Elections

Two at-large seats will be open for both professionals and academics for 2025-2028.  

Nominations will be open April 21-24 with elections taking place April 28-May 2 and should be emailed to buffalostatesenate@buffalostate.edu.  

School elections should be completed before the nomination period.  

For anyone who is unable to be present at the caucus and would like to run for a chair position, please email Justin Crossfox who will serve as interim BEC chair. 

The 2025-2026 College Senate Caucus will be held at noon on Friday, May 9.  

All 2025-2026 College Senators are welcome to attend this event and may self-nominate or nominate other 2025-2026 College Senators for the following positions at this event: 

Chair, Academic Plan Committee 
Chair, Budget and Staff Allocations Committee 
Chair, Bylaws and Elections Committee 
Chair, College Senate Curriculum Committee 
Chair, Faculty and Staff Welfare Committee 
Chair, Instruction & Research Committee 
Chair, Standards for Students Committee 
Vice-Chair, Student Welfare Committee 
Vice-Chair, College Senate 
Chair, College Senate 

2025-2026 College Senators who are nominated for one of these positions at the caucus will be asked to make a candidate statement at the time of nomination. 

2025-2026 College Senators who are not able to attend the caucus may self-nominate for the above positions by contacting the Chair of the Bylaws and Elections Committee prior to the caucus and sharing an appropriate candidate statement, which will be read at the caucus. 

The College Senate Bylaws and Elections Committee strongly recommends against using college email services for campaigning.
